Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a Federal Holiday celebrated since 1986, around Kings Birthday (January 15th). King is an activist who became a leader in the civil rights movement & today is a special day because it represents a hero who devoted his whole life working for Peace, equality & opportunity for people of all races. Martin Luther King Jr. created a platform for all sorts of movements & set a perfect example by showing America how to change the world with positive efforts. Martin Luther King Jr. experienced a lot of violence toward himself & his family but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his dreams. Today we should remember & honor a wonderful man who chose to fight nonviolently to express love instead of hate. Martin Luther King Jr. made a huge impact on society and will forever be remembered for his bravery, preaches, and devotion to the cause.
